@missfaeriekaiti, at the start of the book, most of the people below have no idea why there is this waterfall always falling out of the sky, and they come up with all theories that try to explain, most of which are wrong. Most of the people on top don’t know about the worlds beneath and just think the world is flat. They don’t worry about where you end up if you fall off the edge. The middle world knows about both the other worlds, however.
