Identity is actually a YA book about mermaids. The setting is modern society, and the MC is an orphan girl named Maria. It fits into a lot of different genres, but as of right now, I’d say the main ones are fantasy, drama, action/adventure, YA, and romance.

Interesting. Is she the type of mermaid that eats humans, or the type that convinces said humans to come live with her underwater for as long as their lungs can survive?
