@lianajdouglas Interesting concept. Thanks for the warning in the topic. Here’s the legal side of this: The police are required to investigate deaths by suicide. The police will want to see any suicide notes/go over the crime scene. From what research I’ve done, some suicide cases require an autopsy. State laws vary, of course, and you should do research into the laws of the state your story is set in. I think as long as there is no possibility of a homicide, and the cause of death is obvious, the investigation should be brief. Family members also have rights when it comes to the case, so if she had someone on her side raising objections against things like an autopsy, she would be safer.
