@noahlitle *nods* Okay. I don’t think I would be happy doing consistent flashbacks, but I’ll try to do it enough so that the audience can see the parallels between that conversation and this one. I’ll do it with italics 🙂

@cassandraia I know! Everything we’re trying to do in this prompt begs the question “Are we avoiding cliche-ness so much that it’s not happy?” or vice versa.

@bama-rose I think you’re trying to say that even though there’s been loss, that the happy ending is that he accepts it and looks with hope towards the future. What I’m trying to do in my story is similar — basically that the MC is embarking on the road towards healing, but hasn’t exactly finished the process yet, but it’s still happy.
