“You’re…Nithel?” The shadow became the smallest bit more visible, and Nithel’s chin lifted. His eyes were sad, and confused.

“Where are you from?”

Nithel made himself breathe. His shoulders and chest didn’t move with the breath, but he got air none the less. His shoulders straightened some, “I am Nithel, son of Father.”

Inside Nithel smiled, but his lips didn’t change. The seriousness of his eyes didn’t quake, but there was kindness in them now. “I live in Lanark.” Then he flicked his gaze around the room. Just encase more fell from the sky, or the dawdling people made some move. Nothing.

Nithel’s eyes became more tender as he looked back to the stranger before him, “What do you call yourself?” His voice was soft, but strong.
