Nithel nearly jumped to the ceiling, his eyes wide as saucers. His hands still clenched, he squinted through the dark to Jaylin. A youth, if one could judge by size.

He didn’t know what a troll was, “I am not a troll.” The stones were cold, stinging his feet like it was snow.

He put his chin up, looking to the ceiling again, How strange. His brow crinkled, and he turned to the wall. He rammed it with his forearm. Solid? How did they get the rocks to stick together so strongly?

His feet moved backward, eyes still on the divider, lips parted in shock. “Where are we?” His whispered, voice a soft strength. He glanced back to the shadow watching.
