@Kate I’m all for the second idea! It’s very unique and original. I’ve always loved an odd main character 🙂
@noahlittle You made some very good points. Although we don’t want to make him completely oblivious to the world, he’s still five-years-old. Having him decline the fancy school because he prefers his chimney life is a really good idea.
I’ve been trying to think of ways we can really portray the voice of a five-year-old. One of the things I love about children is that they see the world so simply. The older you get, the more complex life seems. You start to care more about how the world perceives you. While adults stress about the little things, kids tend to see the world in black and white. That’s just something to consider.
For instance, when our character is offered the fancy school, he doesn’t think about the money or his status change. He realizes that he enjoys the freedom his life has, and he knows that if he goes to the school, he’ll be in a building all day. Like what Noah suggested, he chooses the option that sounds more fun because he’s a kid. Maybe I’m overthinking it.
@literatureforthelight was right when she said we shouldn’t add too many details! Also, thank you for the welcome, Grace 🙂 I agree that creating a plotline would be a smart next move.
This story is sounding really good so far, everyone! I’m excited to be in this group 😀
