@j-a-penrose This is a great subject to talk about! Alpha and beta readers are SO important to the writing process. Having fresh eyes on characters, a plot, and backstories you’ve thought of and rewritten a million times is super helpful. I currently have one friend who is reading my first drafts for me, so that I can know if a) this makes sense at all b) if I’m missing information c) if there are any plot holes! After I write later drafts, I’m going to ask for some beta readers and see how it goes. 🙂

In my current WIP, I’m not using alpha readers really, but 2 years ago, I really did. Every time I wrote more, I sent it to some of my friends. Having alpha readers is awesome because they’re such great cheerleaders and can offer great tips, advice, and encouragement. 😃
