She rammed against a wall, hiding behind its meager shelter as the bullets finally caught up with her.

She risked looking out, only to jerk her head back in to avoid being shot.

She had to move. She was literally a sitting duck here.

She pushed herself to her feet, launching out from behind the wall and sprinting out into the open.

Her arms and legs pumped as hard as she could, and her eyes were locked on the bomb. The small, red numbers changed.

Her hand reached out, finger stretching to their full length. Another gun went off.

She stumbled, a hand clutching at her side as blood oozed from between her fingers. She’d been hit.

Her hand slammed down on the bomb, and she threw herself down on the floor, shoving it in her special belt. Hopefully it hadn’t been hit on her way here. Hopefully the scientists who had made it were right, and it would contain the explosion instead of blowing her up.

Blowing the world up.

The bomb went off.
