@j-a-penrose Okay! I’ll try condensing my plot into what you just told us about. Do not be confused when I repeat some of the points. I have a 3-part book, where part 1 and part 2 are from two different character’s points of view, and jump back in time to show the story from two different sides. 🙂

My WIP is (currently) called Poison Dragon.

I am actually writing this a second time because I don’t want to dump a bunch of info on you, but that’s what I was doing before. Let’s try this again 😂

    1. Characteristic Moment

My main character, Esther, is introduced. She’s a village girl who believes she isn’t very brave; a smaller scale of the conflict is shown when a female knight shows up at the village, and she has to take her younger sister, Jenny, to hear stories from her at the inn. Esther invites Arielle to come with them, even though Arielle hates royalty. However, Arielle decides to listen to Esther and come.

    2. The Inciting Incident

For the purpose of this, I will talk about the inciting incident as you described it: Esther finds a dying dragon in the woods, and it gives her its wisdom. She just wants to be normal, but with this wisdom, she could help with so much, and now must use it when she doesn’t want to.

    3. The Moment of Truth

Arielle and Esther fight: Esther in her dragon form so that Arielle doesn’t recognize her, and Arielle on her dragon, Robert. (there’s a lot of the story included to explain both of those, so I’ll skip that 😛) Esther realizes that if she’s to stop her friend from her terrible path, she must fight her with her own wisdom. Bravery isn’t not being afraid, but going anyway.

    4. The Period of Despair

Arielle has Robert attack Jenny (not mortally wounding her, though; she just wants to lure out the human-dragon hiding in the village, who she doesn’t know is actually Esther.) Esther’s close friend Conrad proposes to her (medieval times, they married young) and she knows that if she accepts the life she wants by getting married, she’ll never be able to stop her friend.

    1. Characteristic Moment

Switching point of view, we head over to Lilith, the youngest triplet of the royal children in a different kingdom. (I’m trying to figure this out based on how you described it, but Lilith has always given me a lot of trouble…) Lilith is shown in the kitchen, sneaking tarts for her brother Derek, the second triplet. She is risking getting into trouble for him because she loves him. (She does not love her other brother, Karter, at this moment, in case you’re wondering)

    2. The Inciting Incident

The king and queen are assassinated/poisoned, and Karter must be crowned king while Lilith is now the lady of the castle. At the coronation dinner, the ogres attack and carry off Karter – and accidentally take Lilith with them.

    3. The Moment of Truth

A dragon swoops in an kidnaps Karter, much later in the story. By that point, Lilith and him actually like each other, and they have help from a girl called Maddi. Lilith realizes that she must rise up to greatness if she’s ever going to get her brother back, even though she wasn’t ‘chosen’ for this.

    4. The Period of Despair

Lilith was training with Maddi until she heard that Derek has officially declared war on another kingdom (he’s not a bad person, but there’s a lot of story if I’m to explain that, so we’ll skip that too) She goes back to try to help her brother, and is betrayed and thrown in the dungeon, along with Derek.

    5. The Surge of Strength

*skips the rest of part 2*

Changing to Esther’s point of view, she meets Lilith. She knows that it’s Arielle who has been kidnapping all the royalty, and wants to help this 14-year old. She must use the power she didn’t ask for to (basically) save the world.

    5. The Surge of Strength

From Lilith’s point of view, she needs to help Esther when she’s kidnapped (yes, more kidnapping) by Robert, finally found out as the human-dragon. They go to the center of the kingdom, and she sees all the royals there. (Except for herself and one other, of course. They’re not there.)

    6. The Denouement

From Lilith’s point of view, she’s back at her castle, and is now in charge of training the military. (she was taught very well by Maddi)

That’s essentially what happens in the plot anyway. 😛 I left out a bunch of information to keep this short, and I’m hoping to begin rererewriting it soon. 😆 Tell me what you think of it, and if you want to actually hear about all the plot twists and what happens in between. 😛 I want to see if anyone would actually be interested in reading this book, haha.
