“Yes, I am. Kami Seim.” The guy sounded imperious, and Riure stifled another laugh. Someone took her hand and tried to lead her away. After hesitating, Riure submitted. Sadiq growled slightly and Riure grasped her scruff for reassurance – for her or her dog, she wasn’t sure.

“Yep, he’s a psychopath,” the person whispered. Male. High voice. Oh, that one! Riure remembered hearing him. She snorted quietly, trying to control her giggles. “I’m Ehud, by the way,” Ehud added.

“Riure, daughter of Hendry,” Riure replied. She patted Sadiq’s head. “This is my guide dog, Sadiq. Where do you come from, if you don’t mind me asking?”
