Ok, I have another message from Oreo.
Oreo:
Hey, guys. Before I start, I just want to say I’m sorry. I’m… not going to be joining Story Embers. It’s not you guys, its just that…when I was on the Wingfeather Saga website, I enjoyed writing and being in collaborative stories, and typing and writing was a fun hobby for me. But as I got older I started having other hobbies. So I feel like if I join, I’m not going to be on a lot, and I’d just hold you guys up.
And again, I don’t have ANYTHING against you guys, it’s just that I don’t enjoy typing as much as I use to. I’m really gonna miss you guys.😔
End of quote
…IDK what to say. I really was looking forward to her joining and I’m really sad that our founder won’t be joining us.
“Suilad,” Lagoron said. What? Holly didn’t know why he was speaking in Elvish tongue, but she was sure he had his reasons. “Man i eneth lîn?”
“Uh… what did you say?” the stranger asked.
“I said, ‘Greetings. What is your name?’”
“Oh. I guess it don’t matter much if you lot know my name. I’m Ian. Who’re you?”
Ian. Holly looked him up and down, wondering why he was out in the middle of nowhere, seemingly alone.
Lagoron laughed “My name is Lagoron. These are my companions: Holly is the minstrel over there,” Holly waved, not exactly knowing what a minstrel was, “Jason is the human boy, Arla has the fire-lizard, and Nora is the one with the bright smile.” Lagoron finished.
“Pleasure to meet you.” Ian said, “Like I said, I have a camp over that-a-way. You’re welcome to spend the night with me.”
Lagoron raised his eyebrow at the group and nodded, “We’d be happy to. Thank you for your hospitality.”
Lander shifted under Holly, shuffling his feet. Holly thought Ian seemed pleasant enough, but after her meeting with the shape-shifters, she had learned to be wary. She glanced him over again and smiled warmly. Everyone was tired, even the horses. They couldn’t go on forever without rest, and Ian had offered them what they needed. She would join the group, but stay alert.
Ian chuckled. “Look who’s all formal on me. ‘Tis just a fire and a hunk o’ meat.”
Jason laughed, “We’ll take it,” he said.
I slipped of Lander, rubbing his strong neck. His head drooped and his usually bright eyes where dim with exhaustion. I whispered in his ear and followed Ian to the camp along with the others.
A fire glowed on the ground, casting deep shadows where the trees met the forest floor. It was a simple, cozy place to spend the night. Holly was grateful for the rest, she felt as tired as Lander looked. Her mouth stayed shut, but her eyes roamed the camp, exploring every detail like a maze of clues.
