Yeup. You can foreshadow a plot twist at any point. The main thing is to make sure that it gives the readers a chance to know that something could happen to do with that, and, more importantly, won’t make them feel ripped off.
SPOILERS FOR WINGFEATHER SAGA BELOW
We don’t find out about the Song of the Stones until part way through the second book, and we just keep hearing more about it. However, we have known about the Fangs of Dang, and we kinda know what happens that makes them become only part human. But, there was no pointing this out in the characteristic moment. (Janner and Tink doing something on the roof?) However, because that was being brought up and generally used as a plot point, it works really well!
SPOILER OVER
I’m assuming the plot twist comes in that Beptovin ends up in the battle? My only question if that’s it, is whether that’s foreshadowing a plot twist or a plot point.
But I like the snippet!
