KHALON

Tall Girl gave me one last withering glare before turning her back on Khalon.

“Don’t worry about Liorah, she has a big mouth and a sharp tongue,” Sleeping Guy said apologetically. “I’m Aydin, what’s your name?”

“I’m Khalon,” Khalon answered shortly. Sleeping-Aydin seemed friendly enough. He wasn’t threatening Khalon at any rate.

They stood there in an awkward silence. Finally Khalon spoke up. “Where are you from and what do you do for a living?” Khalon knew that the questions were silly, but he couldn’t think of anything else to say. Aydin stared at him doubtfully. 

“You don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to, but anyway, I’m from Cilce [Sihls] and I’m a student at one of its academies.”
