🙂 And I also want to thank you for your review of my dystopian plot idea. It was very helpful. 🙂 (One can never use too many smiley face emojis XD)

    ENYDD

A man (How old is Avin? I’m guessing mid- thirties to early forties) moved towards me as one would towards a frightened animal. My lips quirked upward. I must look terrified. And truth be told, I was slightly, slightly, nervous. My initial adrenaline rushes that had propelled me forward before had long since worn off, leaving me slightly overwhelmed and unsure.

The man seemed nice enough though. There was no “Give me one good reason I should spare your life” in the way he walked over.

“Hello. My name is Avin. You look as though you didn’t want to be here,” he said in a low voice with a friendly smile.

“I’m Enydd Skovgaard,” I returned with a slight bow. “And there are many other places I would rather be than here.”

“I’m sure the same could be said for all of us. Where would you rather be, if you don’t mind telling me,” he asked politely.

I opened my mouth to give the expected, “Home,” but Avin’s genuine curiosity kept the words in my mouth.

“Well,” I said after a moment of silence. “I would want to be in a forest that’s several hours from where I live. The trees there are gorgeous, and the flowers there are just beautiful. My family goes there just to have picnics and study the plants. My sister picks up a leaf or rock or something and will just go on and on about what it’s called, its history, what people use it for.  My youngest siblings will sometimes “hunt for fairies,” and they’ll pretend that the flower petals are the fairies’ clothes hanging up to dry and that the bushes are their mansions and…” I stop and give a sheepish grin. “Sorry, I can go on and on when I start talking. It runs in the family. So, what about you? Where would you want to be?”
