    @merieshenanigans

    *smiles sheepishly* Maybe I should have waited a couple more minutes before releasing the snakes. *embarrassed laugh* xD

    @rose-colored-fancy

    And the quota for blatant fourth-wall-breaking has been filled for the week XD Somehow we end up shattering the fourth wall with quite alarming frequency, it’s great XD

    XD The fourth wall is made to be broken! I wonder how the term “fourth wall” came around.

    No worries! And we need Ruan and his fire powers because hair spray will only do so much good (it’s the only thing keeping our characters from death right now XD)

    CONROY

    Ophelia and the other girl scrambled onto separate chairs, apparently deciding, like I did, that it was the best course of action for now.

    “Do you have any snake repellant on you?” Ophelia sang.

    I shook my head in disbelief. This girl was crazy. “I’m afraid that s-snake repellant d-doesn’t exist,” I said.

    “You, incorrect Latin speaker, do you have anywhere high to stand?” the other girl asked.

    “Yes,” I replied shortly, biting back a sharp retort. When in a dark library that is about to be filled with poisonous snakes, witty comebacks were the least of my worries.

    I began to click my tongue, trying to formulate a plan of survival. The chairs would not keep us safe for very long and there was no way out of the library. I didn’t have anything sharp or heavy that could ward off the snakes. I studied the ceiling as best as I could in the darkness. There were ledges about a foot wide near the top. I scanned the walls, but aside from the bookshelves, I did not find anything that could get us to the top. The ledges taunted me as I searched desperately for a way up. At the far end of the room were curtains that ran down from the ledges. I squinted, trying to judge their thickness. Perhaps, perhaps, they would be able to support a person’s weight. I surveyed the rods holding them. They seemed sturdy enough. A spark of hope was struck within me. I might be able to survive after all.

    “I’m not an expert on how much hairspray will kill a snake, but I don’t think they’ll like it.”

    It was the unnamed girl. I smiled. The “hairspray,” whatever that was, would aid in my, rather our, escape. I cleared my throat. “I have s-some more good news. I think I just found a way out. We just need to get t-to those curtains and climb up them. We can sit up on them until Castle stops.”

    I noticed that shadows began to glide over the floors. The snakes had been unleashed.

    “Let’s go while there are only a few snakes,” I urged.
