[This is really the worst time to interject; y’all are already in the thick of it and Al really has no place here. -_- Oh well. Y’know what, I’mma barge in anyway. ‘Scuse the interruption.]
Alayna decided to stop ignoring literally everything that had happened so far. While she been not-paying-attention, a bunch of crazy things had happened and a spaceship had shown up and no one could trust anyone else. Alayna was mildly startled by some of the events taking place. She enjoyed people-watching. There were the twins; a boy (Korzen), and a girl (Eiri) who reminded Alayna of herself, but more interactive and, well, nicer. There was this kid who just fainted (Lin), and this other kid having a mental breakdown (Jake). There was one young man (M.M.M. Bel, ofc) who seemed older than the rest, silent but commanding, almost an unspoken leader of the misfit group. And now there was this new girl, Vanice, who came in her spaceship with her furry creature thingy (Sander), and claimed to be from the future.
Though this was pretty insane, Alayna had seen crazier things happen. Really, she just wanted to go home. But she didn’t really know how to do that. She supposed the first step would be to actually say something… to strangers… Alayna wasn’t afraid of them, but she didn’t like reaching out to people. Sighing, she peeled herself off her corner of the wall and stepped closer to where everyone was in the center of the room.
The commanding leader-y dude was telling the kid who had fainted all about his master plan to not trust the spaceship girl and use her to find a way out. Which Alayna thought was a very good idea, but would never say so.
Alayna crossed her arms, trying to look less awkward. She pulled her black hoodie, the one she hadn’t washed in two months, tighter around her. “Um… hi.”
A few people glanced over at her. Alayna recalled that only one of them, Mental Breakdown kid, had actually noticed when she arrived, so she wasn’t surprised at the confusion on the faces of those around her.
“Where’d you come from?” The twin girl [ik, what a creative name] asked.
“Are you from the future, too?” her brother added.
Alayna shrugged and shook her head, suppressing a smirk. “I’ve been here almost the whole time.”
The fainting boy frowned, confused. “Why did you never introduce yourself, then?”
“Well–” Alayna paused. There really was no good reason. “I just didn’t feel like talking to people.”
“Smart,” the leader dude said sarcastically. “We’re a bunch of strangers thrown together into an unescapable and bizarre situation, and that’s when you decide to be unsociable.”
“Look, I’m always unsociable on Tuesdays.”
“It’s Friday,” the twin girl piped up.
“Whatever. I guess I’m always unsociable.”
The future girl stepped forward. “Okay, okay, guys.” she held out her hand to Alayna. “I’m Vanice. You are?”
Alayna wasn’t sure if it was actually safe to release her name to the general public. But then again, what were these kids gonna do? Half of them seemed around the same age as Alayna, if not younger. “I’m Alayna. And the only reason I came over here is mainly because I heard you can get us out of here… so… can you?”
