@kate Thanks for tagging me or I wouldn’t have seen this. 🙂 It’s been interesting to read everyone’s answers and see that so many people are similar to me. I also struggle with writing slowly, but I always tell myself that the slower I write, the more thought I can put into each paragraph, and the more beautiful the finished product will be. 🙂
How old were you when you started writing?
Before I was old enough to formulate ideas with words, I was telling stories through clumsy pencil drawings on paper. Before I could write, I told Mom my stories and she patiently wrote them down and stapled them together. Then I learned to write, and I began writing dozens of dorky, unfinished stories (which I thought were amazing), and when I was eleven or twelve I finally learned to type (which was an enormous time-saver). When I was thirteen I embarked on the epic quest of writing a fantasy novel. I’m nearly sixteen now, and that quest hasn’t ended yet.
Do you want to pursue a career in writing, or do you write just for fun?
Writing is a passion that exceeds all of my other passions. If I can, I want to make it a supplementary career. Even if it doesn’t become the money-maker I hoped it would, I’ll still write for the sake of writing itself.
What are some of your biggest spiritual struggles when it comes to writing?
Formulating a powerful Christian message without being preachy. Or, alternatively, cloaking my message so much that it becomes invisible.
