@Snapper You know, I think that’s pretty normal for the first six months or so of blogging. When I started mine, I had a rush of people at first, but a lot of them slowly faded away. And to be honest, I’m not really sure how I got my views/comments to go up again, but I do know that one of the most important things is to get yourself out there. Follow/comment on other people’s blogs. Be active on social media. Participate in tags. Guest post. Try new things.
Something readers are really drawn to is an open and friendly writer, so never lose sight of the fact that you’re writing for an audience. Be personable. Be real. Answer every single comment you get, and try and make them individualized, instead of “Thanks for reading!” (Unless they left a really boring comment. Those are the worst to respond to. 😣)
There are a lot of fickle readers who won’t stick around for great lengths of time, but don’t sweat about them. If you only get two loyal followers (or even one) a month, I would count that as a total win. These things take time.
(Also, I follow your blog, but for some reason, I never get notifications for when you post. Perhaps this is the Blogspot/Wordpress difference between us…? I don’t know.)
