Anja: Wow, a secret bookshelf! I didn’t see that last time I was here.

Kyrei: Of course not, I hid it. These are my books.

Anja: Only yours?

Kyrei: Yes.

Anja: Then why is the bookshelf higher than you can reach?

Kyrei:

Kyrei, who’s 5’10”: *reaches up* *Can’t touch the top shelf*

Anja, who’s 6’4″: *reaches out and touches shelf without difficulty*

Kyrei:. . . . . .

*later*

Anja: *touching his face tenderly* Dumb hardcover books. . .

 

Satoshi: Yeah, so I decided not to take the test at all and settle for a 0.

Skyler: You just gave up?
Satoshi: Yep. I’m awful with blades, because my mom doesn’t let me touch any.

Skyler: Makes sense. I’m no good, either.

Satoshi: But don’t worry; we’ll ace our magic tests!

Skyler: *turns back to his book* At least one of us will.

Satoshi: Aww, I’m sure you’ll get it, too, Skye!”

Skyler: that’s not what I meant.

Satoshi: *in the background trying to summon fire*

*explosions*

Skyler: At least one of us will. . . if either of us survive until the day of the test, that is.
