Hello Elisha! I’ve just remembered how anti-Catholic I was months ago (without getting proper education about what I was talking about, needless to say). So, sorry for that. I might get better educated about it someday (:
Hi Eitan! Absolutely no problem. 🙂 And I would definitely encourage you to learn more about Catholicism! We get misunderstood about a lot of things, but they make so much more sense if you really study our church’s teachings. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions! I would love to help in any way I can. 🙂
Thank you 🙂 Will remember!
Hi Elisha!
Now that it’s summer and I have lots of free time, I’ve actually become really interested in Christian denominations (including Catholicism). I’ve listened to an interview with Bishop Robert Barron (a really intelligent and pleasant man. I loved listening to him), and he said many beautiful and wise things I find myself strongly agree with, from my knowledge of the Bible and personal experience. (For example, that giving glory to humans doesn’t take from God’s glory, but adds to it). I’ve also been listening to arguments made by Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. May I ask you a few questions about Catholicism?
1) Does Catholicism teach salvation by grace alone through faith alone, or by a combination of faith and works?
2) Does Catholicism teach that tradition is equal to Scripture?
3) Are sacraments necessary for salvation (as they are in eastern orthodoxy)?
4) What does the Catholic Church teach about the Jews? (Ooh, personal. No worry, I won’t be offended by whatever answer you give 🙂 ). I know that it used to teach that God forsook the Israelites in favor of the Church. Does it still teach it?
As a side note – you Catholics really know how to build amazing churches. I’ve been to a few cathedrals in my life, purely for touristic reasons, and they’re… awe-inspiring. And gorgeous.
Thanks for answering!
