I wrote this poem yesterday, and it’s the first one I’ve ever written in English (not including an attempt when I was 13 or so).
I want to weep
I want to weep until I have no power left to cry,
In Your embrace, I want to wail until my eyes get dry.
‘’It can’t occur’’, You said to me, You voice was sad, not mean,
‘’I long for you, My dear, loved child, but now you are in sin’’.
And I surrendered to my flesh, became a stupid fool,
I sealed my ears against Your voice, as stubborn as a mule.
‘’My son, you sin!’’, You cried at me, Your voice was loud and clear;
I groaned and wept into my bed, so none but You may hear.
‘’O God, I sinned!’’, I cried to You with broken heart and mind,
‘’I spat in scorn on Jesus’ face, I was so deaf and blind!
I have betrayed my Father, You, betrayed the only One!
I’m but a swine!’’, and then You said: ‘’You’re wrong. You are my son’’.
My heart had been so heavy, God, my soul was full of grief,
But Your divine and perfect love has given me relief.
My sin was taken far away, I am forever pure!
You gave me triumph, freedom, peace, You gave my illness cure!
