I wrote this pretty long poem today while praying, and I felt like God is speaking through me (please don’t get me wrong, by no means claim my poem to be holy!). The original Hebrew poem was of course much better than the translation, with meter and rhyme. Anyway, I do think that God wants me to share it with others. If I encouraged even one of you, I’ve done my job 🙂
A prayer poem – Please
Be for me a source of peace and calm
Oh my supreme father, a God full of mercy
Oh my supreme father, you are a pure love,
Be inside me a spring of living waters
Father, please help me to thank all the time
So I would never complain for anything
And I will be happy, always, because complaining is a sin
Just help me to thank for everything there is
That happiness will fill me every day, please
And my joy will come only from you, God
Not from meaningless smoke, from the lies of Hell
But only from prayer, salvation and life
Father, give me the strength to be faithful
To be close to you like a belt to your waists
Father, give humility to my stubborn heart
To repent and confess my sins
The power to throw everything in my life
That does not glorify your name and holiness
Please give it to me lord, my Messiah, my God
So I will always dwell with you
Give me faith to remember in nights and days
That all those who respect and obey you have promises
That you’ll never, never abandon me
And that I’ll not lack blessings from your hands
Father, open my heart, that is deceitful above all things,
To absorb and accept your holy will
Please give me the strength to make for you the way
To be a slave to you, please be my head
And I surely know that a trouble will be
And in a day of temptation, please give me the courage
To obey you in any persecution that might come, please,
And to remember that you are sovereign
Please protect me from being like the Satan
That fell from the Heavens due to his pride
And remind me that in grace you came to me
And purify my heart and fill it with humility
Father, give me the patience to wait for you
Not to run and jump without your approval and blessing
To deeply absorb your holy will
And to obey you whatever comes, please
Father, give me the strength to give you
My life as a pure burnt offering
With my body, with my tongue, when I speak
To dedicate all my heart and strength only to you
To do for your name my acts and deeds
To make my paths straight according to the wisdom
Because the beginning of wisdom is the respect of the LORD
My deeds will be like an offering of frankincense to you
