Politics? *gulp* Government?!

I do not belong here…in fact I’ve been waiting around for other people to comment so that I could read what they said and be like “I agree with so and so” and thus would be saved from actually having to say anything. That obviously didn’t work…

The reason for my hesitation is because I feel like I have only just begun to scratch the surface of creating fictional governments/politics. In fact I would say this is probably one of my weakest points when it comes to world building. 😟 I feel like I’m so inexperienced in this…

One of the things I have learned about building a government is that you can’t really form a fictional world without one. And saying “there’s a king and a queen and they make all the laws…” isn’t gonna cut it…you have to think about all the little stuff…how the system works, or why it doesn’t and why a certain thing happens and how it affects the society and culture. There are so many little, intricate details that go into creating a government. This actually kinda stressful, at least for me. 😛 But I’ll take your challenge and try to come up with something…

Before I go; any tips on how to make creating governments slightly less overwhelming?
