I wrote this for an English assignment a few months back, but I liked it, so I kept it 😛

 

A little pencil 

The small bits of wood in hands

smearing lines between

creating, crafting, learning to make

or break a word or phrase

 

break the lead, the wood

tearing the paper in distress

No! It’s not perfect

I’ll do it again. again. again

until it’s right

 

but perfection is but a ruse set up by the world

No things have to be perfect

not a word nor phrase

not even

a little pencil
