Jade

Ugh.

Her plan had been as perfect as circumstances would allow. Everything was even ready. But as Jade stretched at the back of the stage, a wrench threw himself into her plan. Given the weird metal clothing the guy wore, ‘wrench’ described him perfectly. In and of himself, he wouldn’t have been a problem. Now that he was staring down Abirami, who’d turned into a wolf, things were different. Maybe pleasing Ku wasn’t her problem, but making sure her plan succeeded certainly was. No arrogant flamey guy was going to stop it by killing a dancer; not on Jade’s watch.

She stood up and squared her shoulders.

”Jade.”

Isaias. And why was he so serious all of a sudden? “Eh?”

”Did Abirami really just turn into a wolf?” Isaias asked.

”Yes, long story. Stay with Ophelia.” Jade hopped off the stage.

”Jade, what — “

She marched right up to the man who was on fire right as he threw a sword at the wolf’s feet.

Putting her hands on her hips, she said, “No. Absolutely not. If you can’t tell, we’re in the middle of an event here. Pick that up and sit down. You can deal with this afterwards.” She didn’t bother mentioning that the Castle had its own plans for “afterwards.”
