Megyn pressed her lips shut. I guess this isn’t a good time for that kind of conversation. But her eyes softened even more.

“I hope so . . .” she whispered, then let the rest of the sentence drop as she looked up at Strome.

“To get the wound to stop bleeding and bandage it we’re going to have to take her hoodie off.” she continued softly, trying to make it so only Strome would hear her. “You’ve touched a chord in her I can’t reach. Could you explain to her?”
