I don’t know what to name it . . . maybe @e-b-raulands ‘ suggestion would be a good one. . . or every could suggest a name and the name with the most votes wins?? *shrugs*
The city in a mountain idea is cool!! Maybe the prince uses the mountain city for a lair . . . ?(1) Plot: I like the idea of the party being for the prince’s coronation and that the prince “steals” himself. As far as whether his motives are good or bad, why don’t we explore both? At first, the prince could pretend to be evil and want to overthrow his father the king and use the ransom money to hire a mercenary force to do so. However, as the story progresses, the characters discover that the prince is actually playacting in order to draw the king’s corrupt advisors to himself and thus reveal their true character to his father.I really like this!!
As an idea to more ‘flesh out’ this, the prince sees the corruption is his father’s court and perhaps even in other members of the royal family. Perhaps he even has a brother who would be first in succession to the throne, but is the worst one of the bunch. THE PRINCE wants better for his kingdom but feels powerless to do anything ‘normal’ about it. The king won’t listen to him and no one of the royal court understands his viewpoint. So he creates this scheme of ‘kidnapping’ himself, going out among the common people and raise a following from them, thus turning outlaw. All the royal court–and probably most of our characters– would at first believe he is in true rebellion to the throne. And then, near the end (DO roleplays ever end anyway!!?? 🙂 ) someone of our characters discovers his true motive. From there it would just be a matter of showing everyone else that he is trying to do ‘good’. (probably it would be a lesson for the prince too, that trying to carry out a good motive in the wrong usually ends in making a mess. An anti-“The end justifies the means” moral.) The rest of the story would be our characters, the prince and his men trying to make this mess right and save the kingdom in the proper fashion.
I hope that makes sense!!! *sheepish smile*
Have a dry forest in the kingdom would be good too!
