I wrote a story about a magic user in a magical breakout room.

I’m looking for:

• Any suggestions that would make the story better.
• If you’re able to follow the explanations of the magic systems. In just 7,000 words, I made myself explain, not one, but two intricate magic systems! One is highly esoteric and another very logical and concrete, but hard to wrap your brain around at first.

The story is basically just two magic users hanging out and having a good time, but it also has a strong theme of science vs philosophy or knowledge vs understanding and the the limit of how far we should push our knowledge.

This short story takes place in the larger world of my upcoming novel The Songkiller’s Symphony and the MC is Ventar the bard, a prominent character in TSS.
