Otay, to answer questions!

Hmm, I don’t know that I’ve ever given any of my characters a pet. I do have a prince and stablemaster who ride specific horses, so I guess Jaski is kind of like a pet?? That’s an interesting question…I do work a lot with creatures, though. I’ve invented myrens and am working on a pretty deep fantasy world for my mermaid WIP. Myrens are the offspring of sirens and mermaids. They look like mermaids, but have magic, while mermaids do not. It can come in different forms, too. For example, one might have a tail that changes color with their moods or the color of the water, depending on what region they’re in while another might see visions captivate audiences. In that same world, I’m also working on a sprite system. I have sea sprites. They’re creatures made of sea foam that live on the surface of the ocean and spin sea silk. They barter sea silk for things from the mermaids. I’m still working on light sprites/fire sprites. I may have them as two separate creatures. I’m not sure yet. I also have a cool dragon idea, but it’s still in development too. Basically, a fallen star becomes or births a dragon.

Anywho, those are just a few of my critters in that world. As for vacation spots, well, that’s another thing I haven’t put much thought into. (You’re questions put my worldbuilding to shame XD) Now I want to add vacation spots! That’s a great little tidbit to help round out the world, I think. I know in the mermaid world I have a spot, a little spring, that one of my MC fairies likes to go to in the middle of the forest she lives in. There’s a clearing she likes to read in, too. The mermaids kind of stay in one place and don’t travel. They live in their villages and moving isn’t part of their culture, generally. (It’s part of why my MC is a bit of an outcast), but there is an expansive coral reef that on little merboy likes to go to with his friends. That’s about as vacationy as I have, I think.

Parts of my story world I’m proud of? I’m actually really proud of the sea sprites *blush* and I hope to expand them! I’ve put so much into the mermaid culture and way of living. There’s sea silk and sea glass. Jewelry made of shells and such and the homes and schools they live in. I still need a better currency system, though. I’ve worked really hard on the mermaids themselves, too. They’re sensitive to light and have better eyesight than humans because of it. They also have better hearing (so just sharper senses in general) above water. I kind of based that on the reverse idea of how our hearing dulls when we’re underwater. Trying to bring a little science into it, I guess.
