I like it. I like the idea. It does need expanding a little, I think. I’d kind of like to know what happened to get him in this place and he definitely should have said something to his girl! Truthfully, I’d love the background on their relationship. This feels so much like an end without a beginning to me. It’s dramatic and chaotic and keeps me on the edge of my seat, but I don’t feel like I get the full impact, the full weight of what’s going on because I don’t really understand their relationship or what brought Brennan to this place and, ultimately, his death. I want to know why he chose not to tell Mara what was wrong. Did he feel he would have time to explain later? Did he chicken out so someone else would have to hear the heartbreak in her voice? What compelled him to make that choice?
