I am going to switch up a couple of aspects of the fight between Racleva and Theseus so that it better matches his training. Just for future reference, do you want Racleva to be more of a redemption arc character or is she a hard-core villain? (Those are my own made up terms, if y’all know the correct ones they would be very welcome.)
Runawin sounds very interesting! I can’t wait to learn more about her backstory and her personality. If I get anything wrong about her I apologize. Please correct me on anything I get wrong.

Lucas seems like he has a very interesting story! I can’t wait to learn more about him.
Sorry that Theseus looked so bad in the eyes of Caedon. Like I said he is kind of impulsive. Nice touch with elvish. Caedon seems like he has a lot of secrets, I look forward to learning more of them. Also, thanks for the clarification about the castle.
Alright, on to the story.
Theseus was utterly confused by everything that had happened since he had awakened in this strange new environment. One moment he was diving towards a figure that he supposed to be one of his captors, and the next he was sitting on top of a girl who appeared to be a few years younger than he was, with his fist reared back to punch her.
In the moment of hesitation that he felt, she punched him in the face and shoved him off of her. As he fell off of her he heard her spring to her feet and then the unmistakable rasp of a sword being drawn grated across his ears. Suddenly panicking, he rolled towards where he had dropped his sword, grasped its hilt, and sprang to his feet.
As he stood he realized that he and the girl were no longer alone. She stood in front of him and slightly to the left. The first thing that he noticed was that they shared their emerald eyes, but here hair was the color of flames. Off to his right was a man who he judged to be three or four inches shorter him, with a thin but muscular physique. On his left arm he had a strange tattoo that appeared to be a sword with some sort of plant wrapped around it. What drew his attention more though was the dagger that the man had grasped in his other hand. Behind the man was a boy that he judged to be ten or twelve, with dark hair, light blue eyes, and a serious but frightened expression.
The man frowned at him, and said in a menacing tone, “You had better have a good explanation for this.”
Confused, Theseus replied, “Do you two know each other?” gesturing between the girl and the man.
If this becomes a fight it is going to be ugly. By the way they hold their weapons, I would guess that both the girl and the man have received training. The sword is more dangerous. My best bet is to put up a wall of air so the man can’t get to me, and then deal with the girl. After that I can deal with the man. I would prefer not to frighten the child though.
The man replied, “No, but no young man with any sense of honor would attack a young lady.”
Oh, good, this fight can most likely be avoided. I can see how the misunderstanding happened. That kid looks mad too, I bet he has sisters.
“I know.” Theseus replied, then turning to the girl he said, “I thought you were one of the people that kidnapped me. I am deeply sorry for any disturbance or discomfort I might have caused you.”
The girl lowered her sword and asked him if he had been kidnapped.
“Obviously,” Theseus replied, “Otherwise how would I have gone from sleeping with my friends to waking up in a strange castle.”
The man shook his head, “That would mean that all of us were kidnapped, but Caedon and I just blinked and we showed up in this place.”
An English accent, that might be trouble. He might be one of those resistance fighters I have heard about, but I don’t trust the Brits in general. Seems like everyone I’ve met from over there has tried to kill me at some point or another. I’ll have to keep an eye on him and watch my back. Luckily, there are very few people from over there who know about the powers that me and my friends have. The kid’s name must be Caedon, I wonder what the girl’s and the man’s are.
The man turned to the girl now, and in a harsh voice asked, “Why were you eavesdropping on us? Are you from this place?”
The girl answered hotly, “Of course I’m not from here, and if you found yourself in a strange place and heard two people talking, wouldn’t you eavesdrop to try to discover their intentions?”
“Probably,” the man replied, “Do you have any idea how you got here?”
She hesitated for a moment, but then answered, “No idea, I was out picking berries in the woods, and the next thing I know I’m here, my head hurting from falling.” She glanced around, and then continued, “But I do know that we first need to figure out where we are, and to do that we need to find a way to get out of this castle. We’ll have to work as a team.”
Something isn’t right. That hesitation means she is probably lying. She is hiding something. I guess there is another person that I am going to have to watch. Concentrating for a second, he engaged some of his elemental power and enclosed himself in bubble of wind which would sweep away any weapon that got too close to him. This bubble however would not affect anything living. The idea about forming a team is a good idea. She has probably been a leader at some point. That makes her even more dangerous. She mus be at least a decent tactician. I’ll have to make sure she doesn’t take too much power for herself.
“We might as well introduce ourselves,” the girl said, “my name is Vladlena.”
She hesitated. That name doesn’t sound natural as it comes off her tongue. She is hiding her true name. I don’t trust that. She very well could be one of the kidnappers. I’m going to have to talk to the others while she isn’t around, and maybe we can figure out a way to lose her.
The man said that his name was Lucas, and Theseus introduced himself as he wiped the blood from his nose. The girl suggested that they all begin brainstorming how to escape. Just as they seated themselves Theseus heard a yelp from the doorway.
That yelp wasn’t human. Canine, but it doesn’t sound like a dog. It feels…..too wild. It sounds exactly how Gayl used to yelp when she was surprised. Could it be a wolf!?!?!?
Theseus stood and started towards the door, but Caedon beat him to it. The boy threw the door open, and Theseus caught a glimpse of a furry brown body and bright, frightened, blue eyes. The boy spoke to it in some strange language, and the creature seemed to calm some, its eyes going from frightened to confused.
Theseus stepped up next to the boy and stretched his hand out to the wolf. It looks exactly like Gayl used to. Is this where she wound up? Am I finally to be reunited with her? “Shhh. It’s okay girl. Don’t worry, we’re friends.” She sniffed tentatively at his hand, and he mused aloud, “What should we call you?”
“Well, my name is Runawin, so I would be much obliged if you called me that.” she replied. Theseus recoiled in shock for a moment when he first heard her speak.
A talking wolf? What can this mean? Is this the wolf that is mentioned in the prophecy? I thought that Reficul had killed all of the talking animals outside of Resistance bases. I must protect her from anything that the others try to do until I can get more answers from her. Will she know what I mean if I ask her what quest I am supposed to take?
Behind him, Theseus heard Lucas and Racleva give exclamations of shock. He turned to look at them, and saw Racleva had her sword drawn and Lucas was reaching for the dagger he had just set down. Theseus whirled around and drew his sword, placing himself between Runawin and the two humans who were advancing towards her.
“Wait!” he yelled, “Don’t hurt her! I am placing her under my protection! If you want to hurt her, you have to go through me first!”
Theseus heard Caedon step up beside him, “The same goes for me!” the boy said.
After a few tense seconds, the two aggressors lowered their weapons and retreated to their chairs. Both still wore wary and suspicious expressions, though.
Theseus turned back to Runawin, who had bared her teeth and appeared ready to fight if necessary. “It’s okay.” he soothed, “Caedon and I will protect you. Those two over there are Lucas and Racleva.” Theseus gestured towards each in turn as he indicated them. “My name is Theseus. Do you know how you got here? When we discovered you we were just preparing to start trying to find a way out.”
“I just woke up and found myself in this strange place.” Runawin answered. “Do any of you know where we are?”
“Sadly, no.” Caedon replied, “We are all just as lost as you are.”
“I had a similar situation.” Theseus said. “I too woke and found myself in this place. I am worried that my friends may have come through as well and are in other parts of the castle. I vote that we begin exploring. There were many other doors in the hall, let’s go see where they lead.”
I wonder if Jumala has brought all of us together to prepare me for the quest foretold in the prophecy. I should look at this as a training opportunity. I still have to watch my back, though, in case this is some fiendish new trick by Teufel. This situation just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
“Sounds good.” Racleva replied.
“I like it.” Lucas answered.
“It can’t hurt.” Runawin said.
“Alright.” Caedon agreed.
With a unanimous agreement to go exploring they left the library in search of other rooms and a way out of this castle/prison.
Well, there we go. Sorry if I messed up anybody’s character too much. Please tell me, I want to get other characters right so I can better understand how my character would react. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
