@slisby, I don’t know. I was just stalking an art forum where they were discussing the subject. Most of them were actually saying that about photo realism. but I agree with you, and don’t think it’s true about either. (I do kinda wonder about the artists who can’t make a drawing a different size than their reference photo. 🤔)

@the-fledgling-artist, Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I love both styles, though when it comes to creating one or the other, I prefer realism. I just enjoy the process and love pouring myself into all the details. I feel I’m expressing myself best when I’m creating a realistic drawing. Anyway, that’s how I feel about it…

A couple more quick questions: What are your thoughts on the grid method, using a projector, or tracing; would you say that’s “cheating”? Who are y’all’s favorite artists who do stylized art? I really like Leonid Afremov’s paintings. They’re so full of life and color and emotion. It makes me happy. 😊
