Anther girl turns to greet me. I can picture the quill down the back of her wooden chair, but I’m a little unsure what the name read. “Hey… Archer?” I offer a smile, hoping I got it right.

“I haven’t published anything either.” I tell Bama, offering a shrug. “Maybe someday. I’ve finished my first draft for a couple stories, but some of them are really old and pretty embarrassing to read. I also finished the first draft for the one I’m working on now, but so much has changed since then that I’m back working on the first draft again.” I sigh, shaking my head. “I honestly think it would be a miracle if I ever got it published. But I do believe in a God who works miracles.”

“Hey, Corissa. I don’t think we’ve met before. So… nice to meet you. I like your cloak, by the way.” I smile, hoping I’m not talking too much.

“Hey, Eden! And Ferdinand! Welcome back.”
