Jaylin looked around him confused. Where the heck did the girl go? He had just been standing face to face with her!

“Where did you go?” His cheeks turned red even though he was sure no one had heard his stupid question.

He heard something smack onto the ground not far down the tunnel. Turning around he saw a figure rising from the floor. Jaylin’s face turned white and his eyes widened in alarm. He started to back away from the creature.

It rose all the way up and turned.

Jaylin sighed in relief when he saw it was a young man, maybe in his early twenties. In the dim light, he could only make out a few features. His hair went down to his shoulders, and the way it glinted off the torchlight made it look golden. He was rather short for his age. Maybe he isn’t quite twenties…

His clothes looked old and ragged but clean, and Jaylin noted, he had no shoes.

“You gave me quite a scare, I thought you were some cave troll or something,” Jaylin said taking a step forward.
