Rookie Steward Huri Athena-Arachne and her veteran partner Steward Zephonia Weber are working their first official case together to save humans from a new, highly addictive drug that will make humans walking homing beacons for vampires. Huri has to manage her caseload while protecting her childhood friend from the addictive effects of a vampire bite. Armed with knitting needles made of wood or laced with sedatives, the Stewards of Surveillance may look like cute grandmothers or trendy knitters, but looks are deceiving. These women are highly trained operatives who take on the immortal nightmares of humanity and give an extra stab if you make them drop a stitch. Think Friday Night Knitting Club meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
