I think Mel Gibson’s portrayal of the scene helps with its understanding, as it puts him in a setting conducive to life and death questions far better than Laurence Olivier’s setting on a turret and sea cliff, or Kenneth Branaugh’s talking to his mirrored reflection.  What do you think of this portrayal?
