Admittedly not concerned at all. If I know someone with a pretty name I’m writing it down and using it, everything is free game. Baby name websites are my best friend. As long as it seems to fit the genre, I’ll use anything. (I wouldn’t have a medieval character named Karen, for example.)Right, I suppose they are. lol I have been cautioned in the past from using made-up fantasy names used by someone else particularly commercial entertainment groups for legal reasons. I am not sure how true that is but it seems logical as some groups can be sensitive to possible copyright issues. Otherwise real-world names are definitely up for grabs.
I have a certain people group whose surnames end in “Son” like Swanson and Farringson and so on. I have another people group that have first and last names that sound Native American ish, but they also have a third name used as a special pet name by close family, such as Golden-Feather and Silver-Star, and this sits in between the first and last name. So Rhene Golden-Feather Maiowat. I have a people group who’s names I literally just typed rndm letters to find, my favorite example to use is the name Kriiet Oghecian. Love it. another people group is Royal sounding names, English sounding names, Alexander Karson, Windsor, Diane. another group is more medieval sounding names. Lilith, Henrick, Dakota, Cagney Pike. anither group has more Egyptian sounding last names like AphitsuYes, thank you Emma! These are all awesome ideas. I have spent too much time trying to figure out how to efficiently do my naming and less writing. lol
