Alessio had decided to leave out the part where “immune” was loosely defined as “won’t kill me” but it was a moot point now. He only caught Nithel the moment he popped some sort of nuts in his mouth. For two seconds Alessio completely panicked. But his friend grabbed another fruit and he didn’t drop dead or anything…
But Nithel’s action made Alessio realize it was completely impossible to expect the others to not fall on the food, even under the fear of poison. The only thing he was doing was delaying the inevitable, and not by much. Really just long enough to torture the minds of his companions.
Quietly, he motioned to the table.
“It looks…safe enough.” He said with more assurance than he felt. At least, any poison there didn’t act immediately enough to prevent anyone as starved as they were from risking it.
