I’m really starting to like Locran (even his name is great!), even if Quin isn’t hitting it off well.

Well that was pure rude. Lorcan stared daggers at Quin as he turned away from him. Plus – he never yelled. Ever. Except when he was giving orders. But he had found that speaking softly always got people the most.

He slipped his hands in his pocket and drawled. “Just trying to make conversation, lad. Anything could happen – so if I were you, I wouldn’t make a direct enemy of me. Bad idea is all I can say. I’m your best bet if you want to survive this place of death.”

He turned to Acyn and Sahar. “As for your questions-,” he sighed heavily. “An assassin’s job is to track people down and kill them. I can find anyone, track them down anywhere, no matter how many false names and addresses and disguises they have. This may come as a shock to you wee kids, but I can do other things apart from killing.”

Lorcan folded his arms, staring into the distance. “It’s the most important mission of my life. Everything depends on finding that girl. This particular mission is no different from the usual, except for the second part of the job. You get me?”
