    OHHH… The mentor death. Be prepared for a rant.

    *SPOILER for Eragon*

    Brom. Why, oh, WHY, did you have to kill brutally MURDER him!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WHY????? *Glares at Christopher Paolini* It wasn’t just to further Eragon’s character arc, you didn’t need him in the story anymore, so you made him DIE.

    *Ahem*

    *Looks back over what I wrote* Be glad I didn’t write a lot more.

    I know of a book where the mentor turns on one of the protagonists. At least, I think he did. *Shrugs* It’s been a while since I read the book.

    (Also, I do realize this was all the way back in 2018, which was three years ago, and y’all probably aren’t on here anymore, but I like talking about character deaths. Yes, I know I’m crazy.)
