Oh, good! Mildly worried about Alessio if I’m honest… And yeah, Brendin is really sweet (at least, when he’s himself). His passenger luckily isn’t a megalomania, just a pyromaniac (not that that’s much better honestly…), so he isn’t consistently inclined to set everyone nearby on fire so long as something else can cause an explosion. Thought that can still get people hurt granted. He’s not really got much of a moral compass, if you couldn’t tell.
Consistent physical reassure, though often unwelcome at first, really helps someone during a panic attack or an anxiety attack, and speaking softly ensures he won’t be re-triggered by loud noises (although this is a more inconsistent trigger reliant in-part on the current mental state not all triggers are equal
*Realizes Brendin probably learned how to help with anxiety attacks from helping Alex and his social avoidance* …huh. Interes–
*Realizes that Brendin’s disappearance probably caused Alex’s social anxieties to get worse* Well crap–
*Realizes that in his current state Brendin doesn’t even know who Alex is aside from what’s in his journal, and even then he’d be viewing their relationship as a third party observer, which would hurt Alex more since he thinks he got Bren back but Bren doesn’t remember him* …this is terrib–
*Remembers that Bren never wrote about his girlfriend so he has no idea that a) he ever had one or b) who this girl is and she pretends they’re perfect strangers even when she is suffocating inside* …yikes. Forgot how many people his abduction and amnesia hurt…Sorry for the tangent, my brain just dogpiled me with all those thoughts. But Brendin probably does actually have experience in helping relieve anxiety attacks because he helped Alexander Northiron (the one who fell in the river 🙂 ) with his social anxieties. [Fun fact is that Alex may or may not have AVPD (Avoidant Personality Disorder), which is basically shy to the point of actually causing problems in your life and relationships.]
Also Alessio shouldn’t worry too much about hurting Brendin. He’s been burned much, much worse and thanks to an illness from a wyvern when he was younger (14-15) his sense of pain is greatly reduced so he barely noticed.
