Nithel turned around and stared at Jaylin. Apparently, he didn’t…
Suddenly Dharin yelled. Jaylin spun around and stared at his friend in shock. What is he doing? He slowly walked toward him.
“Hey, uh… are you okay?”
Dharin still stared at the mirror. “No. No, I’m not.”
Jaylin didn’t know what to say. “Um. I’m, uh, I’m sorry?” He tried.
Dharin lept to his feet and. “What do you want?”
Jaylin at first thought Dharin was talking to him, but then realized he was still talking to the mirror.
Dharin continued talking as Jaylin watched uncertainly.
“Lies!” Dharin hissed vehemently.
Dharin drew his sword in one swift, smooth motion, and smashed his sword into the mirror sending shards of glass everywhere.
Dharin’s face was strained and his body drenched in sweat. He slowly turned around and looked out at the others who watched him curiously. He took a deep breath then addressed the people: “Apologies, the mirror angered me.”
No one responded and Dharin walked toward the rows of bookshelves and disappeared behind the books.
Jaylin followed him and sat down on the floor.
Dharin sighed and Jaylin made to leave, but he motioned for him to stay. “No, no. Sit down. I just-” Dharin buried his head in his hands.
So he sat back down.
“I keep seeing things in the mirrors. I don’t know if it’s my mind, or the mirror, or both. Maybe I’m just going crazy.”
Jaylin shook his head uncertainly. “I don’t- I don’t think you’re going crazy.”
Dharin just sighed again.
