You asked Rose why Darth Vader was one of her most favorite Star Wars characters, but it was actually me who said it, ha ha ;). I think you just got confused what with all the block-quoting, XD Anyhow…. you gave me permission to get started (THANK YOU!!), so here goes nothing (if you drop down dead, I told you so :P):

1. Darth Vader is cool. He has super strength, he chokes people, he makes corny dad jokes, he has scary breathing, he hooks his fingers in his belt which is something I do myself with my pants, he is calm and menacing, he has magnets on the bottoms of his boots, he has mandalorian gloves, and he is almost the most powerful being in the galaxy.

2. I feel bad for him. He was taken from his mother when he was only 9, which means he was old enough to remember and feel the pain. However, that’s pretty much all I feel bad for about him. Obi-wan was “his father” and did a pretty good job at it for not even finishing his training; Ahsoka Vader should’ve understood of all people; and he seriously shouldn’t have been mad at the council. But then again, if the emperor was the one who made Anakin’s life possible, that gives him some lee-way.

3. He rose, then fell. During the Clone Wars, you saw how much he had matured from the brat he was in Attack of the Clones, and that made his downfall in RotS even sadder.

4. He has an amazing suit.

5. THE BIGGEST POINT: he was redeemed. I think Return of the Jedi might be my favorite movie bc of his fight with Luke (also, love the light-saber toss). In that movie you can really see him struggling and you also see how much Palpatine is ruling his life (he makes Vader’s suit uncomfortable on purpose: itchy and scratchy). And then, he finally gets to see Luke with his own eyes and you instantly know he’s back on the light side. I was sad Vader died the first time I saw the movie, but it wasn’t until I watched the prequels that I really felt sad. I love redeem stories.

6. You have to feel bad for a person whose only comfort is a bacta tank.
