Hi, I’m Lydia, and my cousin Alana introduced me to this site recently…I love it!

A little about me: I am a homeschool graduate who is now a college freshman studying elementary education at Faith Baptist Bible College in Iowa (if there happen to be any other Faith students on here, we need to connect in real life!). I have 7 siblings, including one adopted from Ukraine. My dad is a professor at a small seminary in Michigan, near Detroit. I play piano and read and read and read and read and read. I also enjoy arts and crafts things, writing, and hanging out with my siblings. I also read. I am in the middle of chapter 57 in my WIP (!!!), but since coming to college, I have made little to no progress on it. 🙁 I really need motivation to keep working on my book while still thriving at college.

Some of my favorite books are the Lord of the Rings, Narnia, the Inheritance Cycle/Eragon, the Methuselah Project, Kiriath’s Quest, the Wingfeather Saga, the Wilderking Trilogy, the Rithmatist, the Ranger’s Apprentice series (along with the Brotherband and the Royal Ranger), the Crown and Covenant, the Princess and many more. A favorite non-fiction book on writing is Wordsmithy by Douglas Wilson.  I am always open for book recommendations!

Overall, I am so excited to learn and to “meet” more people like me here in the Story Embers community.
