Ahab’s eyes narrowed when he spotted the guy floating in the air. Immediately he concluded it must be the wizard, magician, or whoever the guy was who owned the castle. He took a step forward, and was about to whack the guy out of the air when a girl fell out of nowhere and onto the floor. Then the figure on the couch turned his head ever so slightly to see what was going on, and Ahab exploded.

“WHAT IN THE BLAZES?! A BUNCH OF KIDS?” Ahab would’ve laughed had not the situation been so unusually bizarre. And strange. And outrageous. The floating fellow seemed to be the oldest — but not old enough to be a wizard, right? — and from what he could tell the girl was not much more than a kid. And the guy on the couch, well, he looked like a soggy french fry.

Ahab was obviously not going to get in a fight with them. What would the use be? Just a waste of time and energy and blood. But he wasn’t sheathing his sword yet. They looked armed, and he wasn’t going to turn around just to find an ax in his back. Kids may be in-experienced and snotty, but they could still do damage.

Ahab growled, and looked them over menacingly. “Do any of you munchkins know where the lord of this castle is? And if you do, tell me quick.” He flexed his arm muscles to convey his point. The floating fellow raised an eyebrow. The couch potato made a loud snore, and the girl just stood and looked fierce.

    “WELL?”

They all jumped, and it was the girl who finally stammered, “I, I don’t know.” Then she pursed her lips and readied an arm to grab her ax if need be. The floating fellow fingered his sword hilt, and the couch potato snored even louder. Ahab couldn’t conceal the roll of his eyes, but he sheathed his sword in an effort to look less menacing. Maybe, if he acted nicer, they’d let on to something. But Mr. Nice-guy wouldn’t last for long.

(I hope this was alright! If I controled your characters too much, just let me know; and I’ll try not to do it again 😉 )
