I haven’t read fantasy for months… And to be honest, since most of the books I’ve read were of secular authors, it’s somewhat embarrassing to tell other Christians about them 😅 I almost didn’t read the snince I was saved, though – I’m not sure if it’s a goof idea to…

Anyway, my favorites, if not now so when I was younger, are:

Jules Verne. He was the first author I read (back when I was 7) , and his books are really interesting. They’re kinda racist, but I can forgive it because everyone were so back then.

They also contain some Christian references (the 19th century, after all – there was no real secular literature), that totally passed over my head as a little boy (well, I once got a present – the NT stories for children – and it passed over my head… One who doesn’t want to believe, will not believe even if he’ll have a vision from Christ himself. It’s true for adults and children alike).

I really loved In search of the Castaways (The first book I read!) and The mysterious Island, but I enjoyed all of his books that I’ve read.

<b>JK Rowling</b>. Harry Potter is a great book series. I really loved the character of Hermione, because as a child I was pretty much a bookworm myself…

JRR Martin. ASOIAF is maybe the best I’ve read on the literal level. However, it’s full of swearing, sex and violence, and the whole world works by an atheist cynical worldview… I didn’t read it for months, and I really don’t think it’s wise to re-read it…

CS Lewis. The only Christian author I’ve read. I first read Chronicles of Narnia when I was 7, and I re-read some of it’s books later. I’ll not add anything, you all know it 😉

I love Tolkien’s world, but I read LOTR only when I was 9, and I was too young to really understand it.
