@katthewriter @jessi-rae (Praying for you, Kat. And yeah, having Strome talk to her is probably a good idea)
Storm nodded once to Megyn, then returned her attention to “Sarah.” “Hey,” she said gently. “All I can do for you right now is freeze your wounds shut, but it’s not a permanent fix. You’ll need someone else to help you too. Would it be okay if one of the other ladies here bandaged your wounds? I won’t let them hurt you, I promise–and if they try, I’ll put an end to it.”
‘Sarah’ looked very unsure, glancing from storm to Megyn. “How am i supposed to k-know? You might just sit and watched while she hurt me.”
Inside, Megyn felt something snap. I understand, she just can’t trust anybody just because they ask her to. I’ve got to show her she can trust me.
Lightning sparked in Storm’s eyes as her face took on a protective sister-bear type of expression, and it’s possible the hallway lights flickered a little. “Only a fool or monster would stand by as someone else was getting hurt,” she said, each word deliberate and well-enunciated. “Friends don’t let friends come to harm if they have any control in the situation.”
Megyn nodded.
‘Sarah’ whispered, “Unless I’m the fool or monster who deserves to be hurt….”
“I won’t hurt you,” Megyn spoke softly, fixing gaze into ‘Sarah’s’. Her eyes burned with an earnest fire. “And I don’t think you are a monster or a fool.”
She held out her hand. “Please let me help.”
