@katthewriter @jessi-rae @e-b-raulands @ellen-blanc (YIKES!! I have a lot to catch up on. Great going, Strome!! And thanks for letting us know, Jessi. I hope this consolidation is okay! )

Storm continued to whisper, speaking gently.

Suddenly the girl looked her in the eye, almost in defiance, but mostly pain in her deep blue eyes. She got a bit louder than a whisper” Why would i c-care about the stupid stars? They never did anything for me. Just sat million miles away, twinkling and laughing at me!”

She looked down, her voice dropping to a very quiet whisper, so that Megyn lost track of her words.

Storm sighed. “Yeah… I’m not much of a star-reader either.” She fell silent for a moment, then continued, “I don’t have much experience with this, but there’s one thing I’ve discovered that helps keep me going through the night by reminding me of the coming day, and that keeps me going through the day when I begin to fear the coming night. Would you like to hear what it is?”

She slightly shrugged but then stopped suddenly. Ducking her head as tears sprang to her eyes, letting a small cry of pain escape her lips, as though a terrible wave of pain shot through her body.

Megyn bit her lip. Poor thing.

“Friendship,” Storm whispered. A tear slipped down her cheek. “I think I can help you, at least a little, but I need your permission. Please, may I?”

“Fr-frienship is a lie. Trust is too…” the girl gripped on the side of her jeans trying to handle pain. “But whatever… p-probably will die anyway. …”

Megyn tried to hold her tongue but the ache grew heavier with her heart. What a life she must have had, to think that friendship is a lie!! It’s not! Father, help me show her true friendship. (NOTE: it’s what Megyn needs most)

“It certainly feels that way sometimes,” Storm agreed. “Maybe I can prove to you that’s not always true.” As she spoke, she gently lay a hand on the girl’s wound and chilled it to numb the pain. “My name’s Storm. What’s yours, if you don’t mind telling?”

“It’s Y-” She stopped glancing from the two other ladies behind storm. “Call me Sarah.”

    She isn’t being honest.

Storm seemed to know she wasn’t being honest, but didn’t want to push the issue. “It’s nice to meet you, Sarah.” She offered a friendly smile.

    ‘Sarah’ gave a slight nod.

“Thank you, Strome.” Megyn whispered to her, a grateful light shining in her eyes. She agreed with her on that. Friendship is a ray of light to given to us help navigate the night. I think she and I could get along well.
