Storm skated through the door and knelt beside the wounded girl, who seemed so weak now she could hardly move. She whispered to her, her words just low enough that Megyn couldn’t make them out.

The girl slowly turned her head, her eyes traveling and settling on Storme’s for a few seconds. Pain, fear, and now a prick of confusion was in her eyes. Then she looked back at the wall.

Storme sighed, staring at the colorful patterns of the palace floor, then continued to whisper.

Megyn watched the scene unfold, her eyes shifting from Storme to the wounded girl.
